Stonebridge City Farm Secured New Skills with Futures
Stonebridge City Farm is a small, inner-city farm that sits on the outskirts of Nottingham City Centre and welcomes over 60,000 guests a year, free of charge.
Not only do they weclome members of the public, who can buy food pellets to feed the animals and take a stroll around the gardens before buying a slice of homemade crumble at the cafe - they also support around 150 volunteers every single week.
We provide them with an opportunity to help us run the operations here at the farm whilst also supporting them with many of their needs. We love what Stonebridge City Farm do, and we were keen to support them in more ways than one. We met with them to discuss the different avenues for support that were available.
Initially, we shared information about apprenticeships and levy transfers, before moving forward to help them fill vacancies at the farm. Following that, we set them up with our Maths Man, Tim, who started the Stonebridge volunteers on their Multiply journey.
The programme’s been adapted to suit our people and to use things like cash tills and learning how to count change for the people who work in the shop and the café - it’s been a fabulous success. Peter Armitage, CEO of Stonebridge City Farm
We enjoyed our time with Stonebridge City Farm so much that our business engagement team couldn't resist popping back for a day of volunteering themselves. They strapped on their wellies and spent a day scrubbing the stables ready for them to be spruced up for the summer.
